Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of profitability, firm size, and capital structure on earnings per share (EPS) in healthcare sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2023–2025 period. The study employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression analysis. Profitability is measured by Return on Equity (ROE), firm size is measured by the natural logarithm of total assets, solvability is measured by Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR), and earnings per share (EPS) is used as the dependent variable. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, resulting in 33 companies with a total of 99 balanced panel observations. Based on the panel data regression analysis, the results indicate that profitability has a positive and statistically significant effect on earnings per share, with a coefficient of 240.8178 and a p-value of 0.0000. Firm size has a negative and statistically significant effect on earnings per share, with a coefficient of -81.9036 and a p-value of 0.0053. Meanwhile, capital structure has a positive and statistically significant effect on earnings per share, with a coefficient of 213.2422 and a p-value of 0.0029. Simultaneously, profitability, firm size, and capital structure have a significant effect on earnings per share, as indicated by the Prob(F-statistic) value of 0.000000. These findings suggest that profitability and capital structure contribute positively to improving earnings per share, whereas larger firm size is associated with lower earnings per share among healthcare companies during the study period.
