PENGUATAN KOMPETENSI GURU MELALUI PELATIHAN PENYUSUNAN BUKU AJAR DIGITAL BERBASIS ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENSI (AI) DI SMK 5 AGUSTUS

This community service activity aims to enhance the competence of SMK 5 Agustus teachers in developing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based digital textbooks, thereby supporting the transformation of learning in the digital era. The challenges faced by the partner school included teachers' limited understanding of digital textbook development, low utilization of AI in creating instructional materials, and a lack of knowledge regarding the ISBN-registered book publication process. The proposed solution involved training and mentoring sessions utilizing lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in digital textbook development. Eight teachers from various subject areas participated in the activity. Evaluation results indicated an improvement in participants' knowledge and understanding across all assessed aspects, with the average score rising from 1.4 prior to the training to 2.7 afterward. The teachers also demonstrated improved capabilities in understanding the benefits of digital textbooks, leveraging student feedback as a source of innovation, and applying AI-based textbook development techniques. This activity benefited the teachers by enhancing their professional competence and ability to utilize AI judiciously, while simultaneously supporting the school in providing innovative digital learning resources. The program is expected to continue through ongoing mentoring until ISBN-registered digital textbooks are produced and ready for use in the learning process.
