Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) contribute significantly to the regional economy, particularly in creating jobs and improving community welfare. This study aims to analyse the role of Mbak Yah's Chilli Chip MSME in improving the economy of the community in Dumai City. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study. Data was obtained through interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that Mbak Yah's Chilli Chip MSME plays a significant role in absorbing local labour, increasing community income, and strengthening the economic chain through the use of local raw materials. However, this MSME also faces obstacles in the form of limited capital, access to technology, and market competitiveness. This study recommends strengthening managerial capacity and local government support to expand the market and improve business sustainability
