PEMETAAN POTENSI SUMBERDAYA LAHAN GAMBUT DI DESA SUMBER JAYA KECAMATAN SIAK KECIL KABUPATEN BENGKALIS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis potensi sumberdaya lahan gambut secara spasial di Desa Sumber Jaya, Riau Pesisir. Masyarakat pedesaan di wilayah ini menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup mereka dengan sumberdaya lahan gambut yang memiliki produktivitas marginal. Pengelolaan lahan gambut yang berkelanjutan menjadi penting, terutama dalam menghadapi dampak pembukaan lahan untuk pertanian yang telah menyebabkan kebakaran hutan dan lahan. Data citra dianalisis secara spasial dengan software Arcgis digunakan untuk menganalisis penggunaan lahan gambut. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan potensi sumberdaya lahan gambut di Desa Sumber Jaya seluas 2.248 hektare terlah dikembangkan untuk berbagai jenis komoditas seperti lahan perkebunan kelapa sawit seluas 1.365 hektare, semak belukar seluas 619 hektare, hutan tanaman industry seluas 196 hektare, dan area pemukiman seluas 68 hektare. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa lahan gambut di Desa Sumber Jaya yang pada awalnya untuk pengembangan daerah transmigrasi berbasis tanaman pangan, saat ini telah berubah dengan komoditas dominan yang berkembang adalah perkebunan kelapa sawit. Kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya konservasi lahan gambut secara berkelanjutan menjadi kunci dalam menjaga fungsi ekologi dan ekonomi bagi masyarakat setempat
